How to Use Shortcuts in YakChat

Shortcuts in YakChat allow you to insert pre-written messages into your conversations quickly and efficiently. They are ideal for:

• Greeting messages
• Signatures
• Frequently used responses
• Terms & conditions
• Any message you need to reuse often

Using shortcuts helps you save time and maintain consistent communication across conversations.

Creating a Shortcut

1. Open the Settings menu in YakChat.
2. Navigate to the Shortcuts tab.
3. Click Create Shortcut.
4. Enter:
   • Shortcut Name – a label that helps you identify the shortcut
   • Message Content – the text you want YakChat to insert when the shortcut is used
5. Save the shortcut.

Your new shortcut will now appear in your list and can be used in any chat.

Editing or Deleting a Shortcut

You can manage your shortcuts at any time:

• Go to Settings → Shortcuts
• Select the shortcut you want to modify
• Choose Edit to update the name or message
• Choose Delete to remove it permanently

Using Shortcuts While Messaging

Option 1: Using the Shortcut Button

1. When composing a message, click the lightning bolt icon.
2. Select the shortcut you want to insert.
3. The pre-written message will appear in your text area instantly.

Option 2: Using Hashtags

1. While typing a message, enter the # symbol.
2. A list of available shortcuts will appear.
3. Select the shortcut you want, and it will be inserted automatically.

This is the fastest way to add shortcuts on the fly.
