Follow these steps to ensure YakChat is available to everyone in your company through Microsoft Teams. 

Step 1: Open Microsoft Teams Admin Center

Step 2: Locate YakChat

  1. On the left-hand menu, click Teams app > Manage apps.
  2. Use the search bar to find YakChat
  3. Click on the YakChat app when it appears.

Step 3: Grant Company-Wide Permissions

  1. Go to the Permissions tab
  2. Look for the yellow notification box and click Grant admin consent
  3. Sign in with your admin account and approve the permission request.

Step 4: Assign YakChat to Users via Setup Policies

  1. Return to the Teams apps section and select Setup policies 
  2. Choose your Global (Org-wide default) policy - or the policy that applies to your organization. 
  3. On the policy page, click Add apps
  4. Search for YakChat, select it, and click Add
This will automatically install YakChat for everyone included in this policy.

Step 5: Pin YakChat for Easy Access

  1. Scroll down to the Pinned apps section in the same policy page. 
  2. Click Add apps, search for YakChat, and click Add
Pinning YakChat makes it easier for users to find in their Teams sidebar.
